Several of you have contacted us about possible adoption situations. We wanted to thank you for taking the time and effort to let us know and for keeping us in your thoughts. We are still searching for our family and wanted to remind everyone that our chances of adopting increase with exposure. Here is where you come in. If you hear of a birthmother or birthfather looking for a family to raise their child, please tell them about us. You can also tell your friends and family about our plans. The internet is such a wondreful thing. We have created a Facebook adoption group called HELP STEVEN AND JOCELYN ADOPT. Anyone can join and when you do, please invite all of your friends to join our group too. To do this, click on the GROUPS icon at the bottom of your home page. Once you are at our Adoption Group page, on the right hand side of the page click "invite people to join" and select all of your friends. It only takes a few minutes to make a BIG difference in the life of a child and an entire family! You could be the link that brings us to our eternal family! Thanks again for all of your support!

We have been married for the best 15 years of our lives. We believe we are still in love because our link in friendship has remained strong and this strong relationship will lay a firm foundation for your child‘s future. We have testimonies of the gospel and are active in our ward. We both hold callings, Jocelyn in Relief Society and Steven works with the scouts. We live in a small tight knit rural community in northeastern Arizona at the edge of the White Mountains. We love our little town where people still wave to each other in passing and where there is a genuine love and concern for each other. We enjoy the benefits of all four seasons; fall is our favorite time of year.

We recently built our dream home overlooking the town and built it with raising a family in mind. We have 2 big dogs, Dillon and Max. They love kids too! We love exploring new and exciting sites on our road trips to different cities with one trip in particular to San Diego as our all time favorite. Staying at the family cabin in the tall pines of the northern Arizona Mountains is one of our most anticipated annual activities. But our most favorite thing to do is spend any kind of time together.

We are bubbling with excitement and look forward to sharing the best times yet to come with our future family.

My husband was born the oldest of 2 boys and 2 girls and grew up in Gilbert, Arizona when it was a still a rural, country town. We would like to raise our family in the same small town, country atmosphere. Steven loves to ride his dirt bike cross country in the Colorado Rocky Mountains with all his friends. He is also an avid cyclist and has participated in the Tour De Tucson and Tour De Phoenix races. We tease him that if it has 2 wheels, Steven owns at least one and has it mastered.

Steven loves to stay busy, and has a uncanny knack for fixing anything. He enjoys wood working, designing and building furniture, playing with the dogs, spending time with family and friends and when he can fit it in, he is a ski enthusiast both water and snow. Steven always seems to be helping someone in need and has always known his passion in life is to give service to others and he truly loves doing it. Because this is so important to him, Steven has made it his profession working as a firefighter and graduated top of his class in paramedic school and fire academy. He also enjoys working with the youth in the scouting program. Steven is very easy going and I always find him with a smile on his face, or whistling a happy tune or teasing and playing tricks on some unsuspecting person.
He has a way of making others feel safe and at ease. He is the most patient, honest and trustworthy person I know and is always quick to compliment or praise for a job well done. He is my best friend and I love him with all my heart.

My wife is the second child in a family of 7 girls and 1 boy and grew up helping to care for her younger siblings. She comes from a family with a strong musical background singing in a family music group with her sisters and mother when she was younger and is a talented singer with a beautiful voice.

She is also a great piano player taught by her mother and grandfather who is a concert pianist. To this day she loves to play the piano while singing with her family. Jocelyn enjoys the outdoors, quad riding, hiking, scrapbooking playing volleyball and softball and of course music. She also loves to spend time with her nieces and nephews helping them with games, crafts, baking goodies and singing. She is also an accomplished designer of floral and craft arrangements and has sold many of them at boutiques. Her creations always bring tears to the eyes of family members who have received them as gifts. She also designed and decorated our new home. Jocelyn’s greatest talent and joy is being a mother to the foster children who come to our home.

Her love, patience, tenderness and desire to bring out their best is never-ending and the children love her. She has mothered her sisters and brother in many instances and has taken them into our home to live for a transitory period. She is always ready to give wise counsel and advice as they grow. She always has her family's highest and best good in mind. She has a unique quality of strength and dependability that draws people to her. She is as reliable as the sun comes up in the morning. Her word is her bond. She is caring, loving, honest and sincere. She works tirelessly to make our home a beautiful and peaceful place to live. She is my best friend, love and companion and my rock of support in all that I do.

We both come from big extended families and enjoy getting together with our many nieces and nephews for birthdays, holidays or just because. Our families have given us their full support and are just as excited as we are to have a new member join the family. We are a close family and rely on each other a lot. Family gatherings in our home are fun especially around the holidays. We usually can’t wait for the laughing and giggling to begin as Steven always finds himself playing horse while our nieces and nephews scamper for a ride on his back. What’s more, the kids always beg to have us ride them on our motorcycles and we love hearing them recount their adventure with the look of pure joy and delight on beaming faces and windblown hair. Occasionally, we find ourselves engaging in huge water balloon wars having the best time chasing each other around doused in water. Even still, our niece asks where the water balloons are when she visits. At family meal time, there is never a dull moment with jokes and wise cracks. When it is time to settle down, the family loves to sing together while Jocelyn accompanies on the piano and harmonizes. There are always lots of hugs, kisses and laughter in our family.

Our thoughts on Parenting

We’ll raise our children much the same way we were raised: to have confidence in themselves and guide them to know who they really are in a gospel centered home, gain a positive outlook on life with lots of encouragement and love. We want our children to know that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them and we will help them to gain a strong testimony. We want to help our children discover their special and unique talents by exposing them to a wide variety of positive and challenging opportunities from camping expeditions to piano lessons or joining the little league and especially pursuing their education.

We are open to building a lifelong connection with you. This includes letters, pictures, etc. We want our children to know their birth heritage, and where they came from. We always want our children to know their adoption stories and the wonderful way we became a family.

As foster parents, we have grown to love the children placed in our care, so we know it will be easy for us to unconditionally love a child that will come into our lives through adoption. For a long time we have yearned for a family of our own. Through this time we have learned many wonderful things that we wouldn’t have otherwise learned and most importantly, we have learned that sometimes there are other paths in life that will lead us to the same if not deeper happiness. We know we were meant to have a family. They were just meant to come to us in a different way.

While adoption is a very difficult decision, if you place your child with us, we want you to know that your child will be loved and cared for with all our hearts. We want you to know that every measure will be taken to ensure that your child is given every opportunity for growth and happiness. We will love protect and nurture your child and help them reach their highest potential. With this challenging decision ahead, may you be blessed to make the best choices for yourselves and your child.
